The Janusz Korczak-Gesamtschule is a comprehensive school in the city of Gütersloh (Northrhine-Westphalia. Our students come from families with different social, economic and ethnic backgrounds. They stay with us for 6 up to 9 years and can leave our school with all the possible degrees for secondary education. We are open for students with special needs who form an integral part of our classes. One of our main objectives is to prepare our students for a life in a globalized society in general and in a united Europe in particular. Our school tries to support its students in their various talents and interests. Therefore we offer a variety of options for students interested in science, languages, arts or sports. For students with extraordinary language skills we offer bilingual courses, teaching economics in English and German in years 7 to 10. In years 9 and 10 we offer the subject "Cultural Studies" as an additional option for students interested in languages. We also offer Spanish and French as a third foreign language starting in year 6 and Latin as a 3rd or 4th language starting in year 8. We develop and maintain various school partnerships with schools in Sweden, Finland, Romania, India, the Netherlands, Poland and Belgium,
